This advanced fine-art cross stitch design, The Bridge at Argenteuil, was developed from a 1900 painting by the well-known French artist, Claude Monet, who was regarded as the founder and leader of the Impressionist group of artists. In this painting Monet produced a glow of light from pure, unmixed colors, that surrounds the forms in the painting. The short strokes indicate ripples in the water. There is no evidence of pre-intended arrangement, but the form and composition is exemplary. The warm tones of the buildings have their beauty echoed in the details of the yachts. and the clouds in the blue sky reflect on the boats and the water. This painting resides at the Musée d'Orsay in Paris.
