Luna Cross Stitch Chart - Evelyn de Morgan

This fine-art cross stitch design was developed from the painting, Luna, (moon goddess), created by Evelyn de Morgan in 1885. In this painting a young woman with long wavy hair and a blue robe reclines on the cresent of the moon. The ropes around her may symbolize either bondage or controller of destiny. De Morgan was an English Pre-Raphaelite painter. She developed her own style and moved away from the classical subject. She was fond of the paintings of Sandro Botticelli who was an Italian artist of the early Renaissance-era.
