This fine-art cross stitch design, Boating, was developed from a painting done in 1874 by French artist Edouard Manet who is defined forever as one of the world's greatest artists. Manet painted a young man and a woman seated in a boat on a sunny afternoon. Manet&'s settings were always perfect and original, showing the reality of life. This painting is one of his most famous works and resides at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.
