This fine-art cross stitch design, Music in the Tuileries, was developed from a painting done in 1862 by French artist Edouard Manet who is defined forever as one of the world's greatest artists. This was one of Manet's first painting of modern city life. This fashionable crowd gathered to listen to a band that is playing. The atmosphere of the painting gives a sense of what the Tuileries gardens (the largest and most beautiful in Paris at the time) were like. You can find this painting at the National Gallery in London.
