This beautiful fine-art cross stitch chart was developed from Henri Rousseau's painting, The Flamingos, painted in 1907. Rousseau never enjoyed the recognition he deserved until late in his life and after his death. His best known works were of lush jungle images, exotic figures and wild beasts - a combination of fantasy and actuality. He was a self-taught artist and received most of his inspiration from visits to botanical gardens and zoos. This beautiful painting is part of a private collection.
