This beautiful fine-art downloadable cross stitch design was developed from the painting, The Baptism of Christ, by Italian Renaissance painter Andrea del Verrocchio, completed around 1475. The subject of the painting is the Baptism of Jesus by John the Baptist. The white dove and the beams of light symbolize the divinity of Jesus. The angel holding the clothes of Jesus was not painted by Verrochio but rather by one of his students . . . the young Leonardo da Vinci. The painting resides at the Uffizi Gallery in Florence.
