This advanced fine-art cross stitch design, Hush!, also known as The Concert, was developed from a painting created in 1875-1878 by French artist James Tissot. Hush! was Tissot's greatest commercial success. This may have been a later moment in the festive evening shown in Tissot's painting, Too Early. This took place at a salon in Kensington, identified as hosted by the Coope family and attended by Tissot. This painting resides at the Manchester Art Gallery.
