This fine-art advanced cross stitch design comes from the 1908 painting, Houses at L'Estaque, by French painter Georges Braque. This is one of his finest works. Braque's paintings of 1908-1913 reflected his new interest in geometry and simultaneous perspective. It was Braque's admiration for Cezanne, who provided much of the early tendency toward geometric forms. Braque frequently reduced an architectural structure to a geometric form approximating a cube. This painting resides at Kunstmuseum, Berne, Switzerland.
