This fine-art advanced cross stitch design, Composition IV, painted in 1911 by Russian painter Wassily Kandinsky, comes with an important and historic item of interest. Kandinsky had become exhausted after his study in preparation of this painting and went for a walk. While he was gone his assistant, Gabrielle Münter, turned the canvas on its side in her attempt to tidy his studio. When he returned he wept at the beauty of the painting, and it changed his artistic vision and direction for the rest of his life.
