Moet & Chandon (Alfons Mucha) – Cross Stitch Chart

This advanced fine-art cross stitch design, Moet & Chandon, was developed from an advertisement poster created by Alfons Mucha (Father of the Art Nouveau movement) in 1899. He was commissioned by the famous Moet & Chandon champagne house in Paris to create a poster to market their Cremant Imperial champagne. The poster shows elegant flowing lines and intricate details in the soft hues of browns, pinks, whites and blues, exuding sophistication and attracting the attention of the finest champagne connoisseurs.

Add six inches to both length and width (3″ on each side)

Number of floss colors in the design: 72 (DMC cotton floss)

Recommended fabrics in white or cream:
Aida Cloth for 14 and 18 count, Lugana for 20 count, Hardanger for 22 count

This, as well as all designs in our collection, can also be worked with one strand of floss over one thread. Even-weave fabrics with thread counts between 25 and 28 per inch would be appropriate for this. Suitable fabric recommendations are linens, Cashel, Etamin, Jobelan, Lugana, etc.
